LOS ANGELES, March 25, 2025 – Keiro proudly hosted the Caregiver Conference – San Gabriel Valley, bringing together caregivers and industry professionals for a day of education, support, and resource-sharing. The conference was held at the East San Gabriel Valley Japanese Community Center in West Covina and featured insightful presentations on care navigation and advance care planning.
Attendees participated in two interactive presentations designed to address the unique challenges faced by caregivers. Expert speakers, including Roxy Kirakosyan of Alzheimer’s Los Angeles, Tomohiro J. Kagami, and Mei Kameda, shared about navigating health care systems, understanding long-term care options, legal considerations for caregivers, and culturally sensitive approaches to end-of-life discussions.
“Keiro recognizes the essential role that caregivers fulfill to ensure their loved ones age with dignity in the setting of their choosing. Our hope was that attendees left feeling more confident in navigating the health care system for their care recipient or themselves,” said Beverly Ito, President and CEO of Keiro.

The event also included a resource fair for caregivers to connect with organizations and companies that offer vital services, including legal advice, financial planning, and in-home care support.
“This conference was very informative, and the explanation about the significance of an advance health care directive was very helpful. I am currently a caregiver for my mom, who is 100, and my husband, who is 78, so it was great to come here and learn new things,” said Diane P., an attendee of the conference.
Keiro extends its gratitude to the sponsors, donors, volunteers, and community partners who made this event possible. Keiro will be hosting the Caregiver Conference – South Bay at Gardena Valley Japanese Cultural Institute on Saturday, October 25, 2025, offering another opportunity to gain valuable caregiving insights. Registration is required and will open on Monday, August 18th, 2025. Presentations will be in English only.
