Medicare Overview with Center for Health Care Rights

This presentation is designed to provide an overview of how the Medicare program works.  It explores Medicare eligibility and enrollment periods, the different parts of Medicare, coverage options, and costs.

Catherine Nicklen is the Community Education Coordinator at the Center for Health Care Rights (also known as the Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program or HICAP for Los Angeles County).  She coordinates community education programs for Medicare beneficiaries and the health care and social work professionals who serve them. Catherine is also a state-registered HICAP counselor and helps answer questions about Medicare over the phone.  She has been at the Center for Health Care Rights since 2014 but is always learning something new about Medicare and never ceases to be amazed by the complexity of the health care system.
