Beverly Ito has over 40 years of experience in aging services, having worked for Keiro as a pharmacist at City View Hospital, assistant administrator at Keiro Nursing Home, chief compliance and privacy officer, and administrator of Keiro Intermediate Care Facility. Following the sale of the Keiro facilities in 2016, Beverly stayed on as administrator of Sakura Intermediate Care Facility until its closure in August 2021.

Kevin Onishi is the chief operating officer at Keiro where he leads day-to-day operational functions that advance the organization’s ability to advance community-based aging services. Kevin serves on the Board of Trustees at Hollenbeck Palms and is a member of both the U.S.-Japan Council’s Emerging Leaders Program and the Consulate General of Japan’s LA Next Generation Japanese American Leaders Initiative. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Health Policy from UC Irvine and a Master of Health Administration from Colorado State University Global.

Brad Fujikuni is the chief financial officer at Keiro. He is responsible for financial budgeting, analysis and accounting for actual results. Brad also helps oversee insurance, risk management, and legal affairs. Prior to joining Keiro, he was with Nestlé USA for over 25 years where he helped run several different operating divisions with the senior leadership teams, while being responsible for the finance and accounting areas. Before that, he spent seven years in public accounting and was an audit manager with Deloitte.

Irene Aguinaldo is the Accounting Manager at Keiro. She has been in the Accounting Department for 39 years. She is responsible for payroll processing, month-end closings, and preparation of annual audit requirements.

Naomi Arnot is the communications manager at Keiro, where she oversees projects and day-to-day functions of external communications. Naomi attended St. John’s University, and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Arts with a minor in Advertising Communications. Her involvement in the Japanese American community was sparked by her participation in leadership programs such as Rising Stars and the Nikkei Community Internship. Naomi has a passion for mission-driven work and design, and she has enjoyed playing Okinawan taiko for over 11 years.

Yoshiko Asakawa (Kobayashi) was the recreation activity director at Keiro Nursing Home and Kei-Ai Los Angeles HealthCare Center for over 20 years. Yoshiko is currently the communication associate at Keiro, where she helps with Japanese language support and translations.

Heather Harada is the director of strategy at Keiro. She oversees strategic partnerships, future initiatives, governance, and board relations. She holds a Master of Science degree in gerontology from the University of Southern California.

Brendan Hotta is a program analyst at Keiro. He is directly involved in the Quality of Life Classes supporting and educating older adults and caregivers. Brendan is proud to represent his mixed heritage, being Peruvian-Okinawan-Japanese and fluent in Spanish. He attended Hawai’i Pacific University and received a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a concentration in Human Health.

Makoto Kotani is the director of programs at Keiro. He oversees the execution of programs for older adults and caregivers focused on enhancing quality of life through educational presentations, community convenings, and conference events. While at Keiro, Makoto has developed community relationships through overseeing the grants program and reestablishing the Nikkei Senior Network program. He currently represents Keiro’s community through serving on the Community Advisory Board for Cedars-Sinai.

Kent Marume is the program manager at Keiro, overseeing and implementing programs supporting older adults and caregivers. These include the annual Caregiver Conference, Keiro no Hi Festival, Quality of Life Classes, and the Nikkei Senior Network. He attended California State University, Fullerton, and received a Bachelor of Arts in Asian American Studies and Psychology.

Kiyomi Mitsuda is a fifth-generation (gosei) Japanese American and first-generation Nicaraguan American woman who grew up in Torrance, California. She graduated from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Live TV and Audio Production. With her knowledge of production and coaching background, she has been able to help Keiro move forward towards a better tomorrow. Kiyomi is currently a communication analyst at Keiro, where she uses marketing campaigns and outreach to help Our Community.

Mark Nakabayashi is a human resources analyst at Keiro, where he has also been at Keiro since 2012. He has over twenty five years in the human resources field, where he also provides support to Keiro’s accounting group and serves as the point of contact between Keiro and its IT services. Before working at Keiro, Mark had worked in the biotechnology sector in Silicon Valley.

John Nakaki has been with Keiro since 2009 and is currently an administrative assistant. He has worked as a courier, new hire orientation instructor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) compliance trainer, and community services facilitator. John was on the Board of Directors of the Grateful Crane Ensemble and is a founding member of Sansei Legacy of Southern California. Previously, John spent over 30 years with UPS in operations and staff positions.

Michelle Obi is the development analyst at Keiro where she supports fundraising initiatives, donor relationships, and strategic development efforts. She is proud to be working for an organization that her grandparents believed in and were involved in for many years, and is grateful to be able to help carry on a mission established over 60 years ago.

Rie Sera is currently the development associate at Keiro and began her career at Keiro Nursing Home as a receptionist and billing clerk before transferring to Keiro Intermediate Care Facility as the business office manager. Following the sale of the Keiro facilities in 2016, she stayed at Sakura Intermediate Care Facility until its closure in August 2021 before returning to the Keiro family.

Mike Tang is the director of development at Keiro, overseeing the organization’s development efforts. With a background in product management and strategy, he brings experience in cross-functional leadership, stakeholder engagement, and data-driven decision-making. Prior to joining Keiro, Mike worked in the technology sector, leading teams in developing and scaling customer-focused solutions. Now, in the nonprofit space, he is passionate about applying his skills to support Keiro’s mission and deepen its impact in the community.

Janie Teshima has worked in the aging services and long-term care field for over 40 years, being involved with nursing homes, retirement home, and intermediate care facility. She is currently working in the strategy department to develop relationships with community groups and organizations through projects such as Iyashi Care, ClubGenki, and Keiro’s Grants Program.

Trent Tomoyasu is a program analyst at Keiro, where he helps coordinate Quality of Life Classes, Genki Living Workshops, and Caregiver Conferences. Born and raised in Pasadena, he studied Business Psychology at UC San Diego. By combining his background in marketing with his role at Keiro, he strives to design programs that resonate with older adults and enhance their well-being.

Charlene Tonai Din (she/her) is a program analyst at Keiro, focused on creating and delivering programming to help older adults and their caregivers improve their quality of life.  She sees her work at Keiro as an extension of her ongoing commitment to build and help communities thrive. Charlene’s desire to connect with her heritage as a fourth generation (yonsei) Japanese and Chinese American from Oakland, California continues to guide both her professional and personal development.
