Legacy Giving

By remember Keiro in your will, you can have a significant impact on improving the quality of life for Japanese American and Japanese older adults wherever they call home. Your bequest may have estate tax benefits as well. The following is sample bequest language for discussion your attorney:

You do not need to be wealthy to leave a legacy. Make your core values known by joining Keiro’s Legacy Circle by making a planned gift to Keiro. Members of our Legacy Circle are generous and forward-thinking donors who will support our long-term mission, to enhance the quality of senior life in Our Community, and will be remembered for years to come.

In addition to supporting our work through your generous cash donations, here are other ways you can contribute to the sustainability of Keiro’s work to improve the lives of Japanese American and Japanese older adults, wherever they call home in the long term. Many of these options are a win-win for you, the donor and Keiro. We encourage you to consult with your financial advisor to discuss the tax implications of these options.

Bequests

One of the easiest ways to help involves simply naming Keiro Services as a beneficiary in your will and living trust. A bequest may be for a particular dollar amount or percentage of your estate. Estate tax savings may be significant. Click here to learn more about making a bequest to Keiro.

Life Insurance Policy and Retirement Assets

Often overlooked by donors, naming Keiro Services as a partial beneficiary of these assets can provide support for Keiro’s work.

Life Income Gifts

Life income gifts allow you to leave a gift in the care of Keiro Services, while earning income for yourself during your lifetime. The two most popular life income gifts are charitable remainder trusts and charitable gift annuities.

Complex Gifts

If you are a business owner, own real property or have any other type of complex asset, giving options exist that can both help Keiro and benefit your family financially.

Legacy Circle members become a special part of the Keiro family. They are also honored with:

  • Periodic updates from Keiro’s president & CEO
  • Recognition in our annual publication and website

If you have already made a planned gift to Keiro, would like to speak to someone about a planned gift, or would like additional information about Keiro’s Legacy Circle, please contact Brandon Leong at 213.873.5705 or email bleong@keiro.org.
