LOS ANGELES – July 16, 2026 – Keiro is excited to announce that the ninth annual Keiro no Hi Festival will be on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Los Angeles Hompa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple (Nishi). In honor of the Japanese holiday of Keiro no Hi, or Respect for the Aged Day, this special festival continues to bring together older adults and their loved ones from across Southern California in Little Tokyo.
Attendees will enjoy live performances from talented local musicians and artists, including Asian Persuasian, Bandō Hidesomi, LA’s 33 Strings, Orange County Friendship Choir, and Ryukyukoku Matsuri Daiko. Entertainment will also showcase exciting demonstrations by Art Ishii from Matsubayashi Ryu Karate-Do of Los Angeles, Mary Ellen Wong, and Brian Kito from Fugetsu-Do. The event will feature a vendor fair featuring local small businesses, festival games with exclusive prizes, crafting stations, and more. Each admission ticket includes access to the festival and a bento lunch.

“Keiro is thrilled to be returning to Nishi for our annual Keiro no Hi Festival! Year after year, this festival continues to bring great joy to community members, especially those who do not come to Little Tokyo often,” said Beverly Ito, president and CEO of Keiro. “I hope that every older adult who enters this festival can experience the spirit of celebration and feel honored for their lifelong contributions and accomplishments.”
Registration is FREE and required to attend. For a $5 fee, registrants can sign up for a round-trip bus service to the festival from select locations across Los Angeles, Orange, and Ventura counties.
