Keiro has offered more than 20 caregiver conferences since 2001, serving thousands of Japanese American and Japanese caring for their aging loved ones. These conferences offer valuable resources and education along with the confidence to care for the older adults in their lives.
This year, the annual Caregiver Conference will be held virtually on Saturday, March 13 from noon – 3:00 p.m. PST. This free conference continues Keiro’s work to support and equip family caregivers with practical knowledge to enhance the quality of care their loved ones receive.
“Being a caregiver is never easy, and especially during this pandemic, the burden on caregivers is increasing. Although in a virtual format, we are grateful that we can continue to provide opportunities for caregivers to find new tools and connect to resources they need,” shared Gene S. Kanamori, president and CEO of Keiro. “Over the past 20 years, Keiro has seen that there is a continuing need for family caregiver support.”
Registered attendees will receive a link to participate in the virtual program which will feature a keynote presentation on caregiving during the pandemic as well as two breakout sessions about reflections from past caregivers on their experiences and culinary tips for caregivers.
A virtual resource fair, comprised of agencies and businesses focused on helping older adults, will be available for attendees to explore before and after the livestream event. The first 200 individuals to register for the event will also receive a complimentary mailed care package.
