LOS ANGELES, July 9, 2026 – Keiro is pleased to announce that the first board and care home for Keiro Kikyo Home, located in Torrance, has officially received its Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE) license issued by the California Department of Social Services (DSS).

Keiro Kikyo Home is now transitioning from the development phase to the final stages of preparation for the grand opening of its first home. This residential care initiative stems from years of research, planning, and community engagement to understand the growing need for supportive residential care.
“Receiving licensure has brought us one step closer to welcoming Keiro Kikyo Home’s first residents”, said Beverly Ito, Keiro president and CEO. “We are grateful for the community’s ongoing support, patience, and trust as we work toward expanding much-needed assisted living options. As Keiro celebrates its 65th anniversary, advancing our legacy of caring for older adults remains a steadfast commitment to Our Community.”

The home will offer an intimate, supportive environment designed for residents who may benefit from additional assistance in their daily routines. Features include shared and private rooms, culturally responsive programming, and an emphasis on safety, engagement, and meaningful daily activities. The care model is a natural extension of Keiro’s vision to build a community where everyone, across generations, can live a healthier and more fulfilling life by providing a community-centered care option.
The Keiro Kikyo Home Board continues to explore real estate opportunities to develop additional board and care homes as part of its community-focused vision. Further information will be released as significant milestones occur. For inquiries and frequently asked questions, visit keiro.org/kkh.
