LOS ANGELES, May 18, 2026 – Keiro announced its 2027 Grants Program cycle, which will continue to focus on funding programs that enhance the quality of life for older adults and caregivers in the Japanese American and Japanese-speaking community of Los Angeles, Orange, and Ventura counties.
Keiro’s Grants Program strengthens a network of local community hubs that provides vital access to programs and services, supporting older adults and their loved ones as they age in a manner of their choosing. This program invests in both new and ongoing programs that align with one or more elements of Keiro’s definition of quality of life: health and wellness, purpose, connectedness, security, and autonomy.
Keiro published a report measuring the impact of its 2025 grants cycle, which found that 96% of participants felt connected in their community as a result of participating in a Keiro grant-funded program.
“Over the past 10 years, Keiro grant recipient organizations have been a key source of connection and security for older adults and their families in Our Community, providing essential programs and services to enhance the aging journey,” said Beverly Ito, Keiro president & CEO. “As Keiro celebrates its 65th anniversary, we remain committed to supporting the community in building a healthier and more fulfilling future across generations.”
The 2027 Grants Program will offer grants of up to $20,000 to qualified applicants through a competitive, committee-driven review process. Priority will be given to applicant organizations with an annual operating budget of less than $1 million, as well as recurring or periodic programs that provide sustained support during the grant funding period. The grant funding period for the 2027 cycle will be up to 12 months (January 1, 2027 through December 31, 2027). Grant applications may be submitted for program development, capacity building (including staffing), and core operating support. Capital projects will not be considered.
The application deadline for this year’s grants cycle is 5:00 p.m. PDT on Friday, July 17, 2026. Keiro will also offer three, one-hour educational online workshops discussing application details for this year’s grants cycle. Registration is required to attend.
