LOS ANGELES, June 11, 2025 – Keiro announced its 2026 Grants Program cycle, which will continue to focus on funding programs that enhance the quality of life for older adults and caregivers in the Japanese American and Japanese community of Los Angeles, Orange, and Ventura counties.

Keiro’s Grants Program strengthens a network of local community hubs that increase access to programs and services, supporting older adults to age in a manner of their choosing. This program will invest in both new and ongoing programs that align with one or more elements of Keiro’s definition of quality of life: health and wellness, purpose, connectedness, security, and autonomy.

“The grant-funded work being done by community organizations’ volunteers and staff has had an invaluable impact on older adults and their loved ones over the past nine years,” said Beverly Ito, Keiro president & CEO.  “We look forward to continuing our support of the programs, services, and activities that enhance wellbeing and quality of life for older adults in their local communities.”

The 2026 Grants Program will offer grants of up to $20,000 to qualified applicants through a competitive, committee-driven review process. Priority will be given to applicant organizations with an annual operating budget of less than $1 million, as well as recurring or periodic programs that provide sustained support during the grant funding period, rather than one-time events. The grant funding period for the 2026 cycle will be up to 12 months (January 1, 2026 through December 31, 2026). Grant applications may be submitted for program development, capacity building (including staffing), and core operating support. Capital projects will not be considered. The application deadline for this year’s grants cycle is 5:00 p.m. PDT on Friday, August 1, 2025.

The goals of Keiro’s Grants Program are:

  • To enhance the quality of life of older adults and their caregivers in the Japanese American and Japanese community of Los Angeles, Orange, and Ventura counties
  • To reach out to and/or reestablish connections with older adults and caregivers, while providing support through community programs and events, and increasing the capacity to offer these services
  • To promote accessible, culturally-sensitive programs and services to Our Community

Keiro will also offer three, one-hour educational online workshops, and registration is required to attend.
