LOS ANGELES, December 4, 2025 – Keiro announced the recipients of its 2026 Grants Program cycle, awarding $350,000 in funds to support 42 nonprofit organizations. This year, emphasis was placed on program development, including the expansion and/or enhancement of existing programs; capacity building; and core operation support focused on enhancing at least one of the following quality of life elements, as defined by Keiro — health and wellness, purpose, connectedness, security, and autonomy.

“As we begin the tenth funding cycle of the Keiro Grants Program, we remain grateful for the incredible efforts of these community organizations. The grant recipients have collectively brought together thousands of older adults and caregivers across Our Community,” said Beverly Ito, president and CEO of Keiro. “We look forward to supporting the good work of both new and returning recipient organizations as they enhance the quality of senior life.”

Since its inception in 2016, the Keiro Grants Program has provided more than $3.5 million in grant funding to over 85 qualified nonprofit, community-based organizations that serve the Japanese American and Japanese older adult and caregiver populations in Los Angeles, Orange, and Ventura counties. An independent review committee, composed of community members with diverse backgrounds, careers, and community involvement, evaluated the proposals and recommended funding for the organizations. This year, the committee members were Hiroko Higuchi, Chrys Ishida, Stephen Miyabe, Nina Suzuki, Wade Utsunomiya, and Stacey Yoshinaga.

“Being part of this year’s Grants Review Committee was a wonderful learning experience, as it provided an opportunity to see what the various applicant organizations are doing to support older adults and caregivers in the community,” said Stacey Yoshinaga, Keiro Grants Review Committee member. “It was an honor to help in supporting their worthy projects.”
