For Keiro’s second Caregiver Conference in 2025, we will be heading to the South Bay! Centered on Building a Strong Care Foundation through advance care planning, this event will offer valuable insights, practical strategies, and expert guidance to empower caregivers to secure not only their loved ones’ futures but also their own. Together, we’ll explore innovative tools and resources designed to enhance caregiver support for Our Community in the South Bay.
Registration:
Registration opens Monday, August 18, 2025 and will close Friday, October 10, 2025, or when capacity is reached. This event will have a limited number of tickets, and participation will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Registration is required to attend.

Navigating Care Decisions: Empowering Caregivers
Presenter: Roxy Kirakosyan, Alzheimer’s Los Angeles
As a caregiver, making the best care decision is a balance of being in tune with your care recipient’s needs and understanding your capacity. Learn from a professional care navigator to understand how self-awareness and advocacy can improve the overall quality of care for your loved one.
Attendees will learn:
- To identify the various options for care available
- Community resources that can support caregivers and care recipients
- How to navigate communication pathways with health care providers, ensuring caregivers can advocate effectively and assess necessary services

Roxy Kirakosyan
Roxy Kirakosyan is the Director of Education and Outreach at Alzheimer’s Los Angeles where she oversees community education across Los Angeles County. Roxy is a Certified Health Education Specialist and has her Masters of Public Health from California State University, Northridge. She has been an educator in the field of Alzheimer’s and dementia for the past eight years, designing and implementing caregiver and brain health programs. Roxy has also taught evidence-based memory training and Brain Boot Camp programs through the UCLA Longevity Center.
Dialogue & Perspectives on Advance Planning
Presenters: Tomohiro J. Kagami & Mei Kameda
Over 60% of adults in the US have not completed at least one advance care planning document. When caring for aging loved ones, it is increasingly important to understand these documents and to have them completed from legal, financial, and medical perspectives. Secure future decisions early for yourself and your loved ones through learning from a legal professional and social worker in this presentation.
Attendees will learn:
- The importance of advance planning for yourself and loved ones
- Insights from a legal professional and social worker
- The advantages of having advance care documents and plans in place

Tomohiro J. Kagami
Tomohiro J. Kagami’s practice includes probate administration and litigation, trust administration and litigation, conservatorships, and estate planning. Mr. Kagami counsels clients regarding all aspects of probate, trust, and conservatorships, including fiduciary appointments and removals, marshaling of assets and sales of assets within trusts, conservatorships and estates, and fiduciary accountings. He has resolved and settled numerous disputes involving fiduciary appointments and accountings, asset management and distributions, interpretation and validity of estate plans, and fiduciary compensation. He is a second generation Japanese American and fluent in Japanese.

Mei Kameda
Mei Kameda (she/her/hers) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who currently works in the palliative care/hospice field in Southern California. Mei holds a Masters of Social Work degree with an Adulthood and Aging Specialization from California State University, Long Beach. Mei completed an Advanced Practice Palliative Care Certificate for Social Workers through Shiley Institute for Palliative Care to continue her journey as a specialized social worker. Mei finds deep meaning in learning how an acceptable quality of life may look for each person. Mei’s areas of interest include normalizing experiences of grief, health care bioethics, and the use of language in health care settings to promote a patient-centered/inclusive delivery of care.
