Transition

For more than 50 years, Keiro (“respect for our elders”) has represented Japanese American values and a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of senior life. After many years of thoughtful consideration, the Keiro Board made the difficult decision to sell the facilities. On February 8, 2016, Keiro and Pacifica announced the close of escrow of Keiro’s four senior healthcare facilities – Keiro Nursing Home, South Bay Keiro Nursing Home, Keiro Intermediate Care Facility, and Keiro Retirement Home to Pacifica Companies, LLC. The sale paves the way for Keiro to provide services, support, and a broad spectrum of programs and tools designed to meet the changing needs of Our Community.

Keiro’s mission remains the same: to enhance the quality of senior life in Our Community.

Our organization’s strong history and presence in the community will facilitate an exciting future, committed to strengthening the health and wellbeing older adults in the Japanese American and Japanese community.

Keiro will continue to serve as an ongoing resource to residents, caregivers, and families in the community as well as of the former Keiro facilities by providing high quality, high impact, and culturally sensitive programs.

Community Involvement will Shape our Future

Community participation during this transition will make certain the new programs are culturally relevant, effective, and meet the evolving needs of older adults in Our Community.
